All of your resolution needs for a healthy nutritious breakfast!
If you're like me, you HATE getting up, but once you're up, there is no going back to sleep. Dont get me wrong, this girl loves a good nap! (ask literally anyone who has ever had a 5 minute conversation with me.) I just can never seem to fall right back asleep.
With that being said, I just do not have the time, energy, desire, or patience to wake up in the morning and make breakfast. Did I mention I hate eggs, in every single form ever invented, which makes breakfast options so much harder? Yeah, I must've forgotten that so if you're an egg person, catch ya next blog because I will be posting nothing with eggs in it!
I have had so many girls tell me that they just don't simply feel like eating in the morning, usually because of coffee. I have had people say they don't have time, what about 5 minutes? Maybe less, thats giving you like 3 extra minutes.
"Maddie what if I absolutely hate smoothies and anything green that is in liquid form freaks me out????" Well, in that case, you're in luck. I will include a recipe for one of my favorite, easy to meal prep filling breakfast options but let's start out with the basics of powerful smoothies!
SIDE NOTE, I WILL POST LINKS TO PURCHASE SOME OF THESE PRODUCTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS BLOG POST
What you will need:
Fruit ninja
Fermented Pea Protein (it sounds gross but it's not bad)
Green superfood power blend (Whole Foods)
Ripple (Vegan "milk") or Almond, cashew or coconut milk.
What makes a smoothie useful:
Protein, vitamins, essential amino acids, supplements, and an overwhelming list of other benefits. In my smoothies I strive to make them as nutritious as possible while also balancing my sugar and protein intake.
What kind of fruits are best:
I usually combine things like:
mango, pineapple and peach
peach, raspberries and blueberries
blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
kiwi & pineapple
Fruit tip* Buying frozen fruit will literally save your life, time and stress levels.
What kind of veggies are best:
Kale (if you can buy it frozen its much more convenient)
Spinach
Frozen ginger cubes (really have only been able to find these at Whole Foods)
Cauliflower
Broccoli florets
Whatever other green thing you can find that might be going bad soon that you feel risky enough to throw into your smoothie #yolo.
I have a secret that I use in all of my smoothies to make them the right consistency. People always ask if I use milk or yogurt in my smoothies as the liquid portion. THE ANSWER TO ALL OF THOSE IS NOOOO. I use unsweetened almond milk, water, or pressed juices. I also add lemon juice and apple cider vinegar with mother.
You will need to freeze some fresh kale, and any other veggies you'd like in your smoothie. You may choose to not freeze them and put them in regularly; however, I do not prefer it that way! To each his own.
